Gombe, Nigeria – March 18, 2025 – The Gombe State Coordinator of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr. Johnson Adebiyi, has warned candidates applying for the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) admission to complete their registration before the closing date in April.
Adebiyi issued this reminder during a meeting with Desk Officers on March 10, 2025, where he emphasized the strict guidelines and requirements for the DE registration process. He cautioned candidates not to wait until the last minute, as no extension will be granted after the deadline.
Strict Guidelines for 2025 DE Registration
Adebiyi outlined the essential qualifications and documents required for the ongoing DE registration, urging candidates to provide accurate and complete details.
He stated that all prospective Direct Entry candidates must present the following details:
- A’level qualifications (such as NCE, OND, HND, IJMB, Cambridge, or other approved qualifications).
- Registration or Matriculation numbers from their awarding institutions.
- Course of study and qualification obtained.
- Grades received in their previous academic programs.
- Name of the awarding institution.
In addition, statements of results older than three years will not be accepted for DE registration. Candidates must present valid and verifiable academic records to avoid disqualification.
Adebiyi also urged registration officers to carefully verify candidates’ documents and seek clarification whenever necessary.
JAMB DE Registration Closes in April – No Extension Will Be Granted
Adebiyi reiterated that the DE registration exercise, which began on March 12, 2025, will officially close in April 2025. However, the exact closing date will be announced soon.
He emphasized that, just like the UTME registration, there will be no extension for the Direct Entry registration deadline.
“Candidates must take full advantage of this registration period. Similar to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), there will be no extension after the closure of this exercise,” Adebiyi warned.
Advice to Candidates: Register Early to Avoid Issues
With the deadline fast approaching, JAMB has urged all eligible Direct Entry candidates to complete their registration before it is too late.
Adebiyi also reminded candidates to visit accredited JAMB centers to complete their registration, warning against engaging third-party agents or cyber cafés that are not JAMB-certified.
As the 2025 admission process intensifies, JAMB is working to ensure a smooth registration process for all applicants while maintaining strict adherence to verification guidelines.
For further updates, candidates are advised to visit the official JAMB website (www.jamb.gov.ng) and monitor credible news sources.
