The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is intensifying efforts to ensure a hitch-free registration and examination process for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This comes as millions of candidates prepare to participate in the crucial annual exercise.
Acknowledging past challenges, concerned parents and guardians have urged JAMB to simplify the process and reduce frustrations for candidates. In response, JAMB has committed to delivering an exceptional experience, supported by technological advancements and refined strategies.
Measures to Enhance the 2025 UTME
JAMB has implemented several measures to ensure a smooth registration and examination process. The Board has mandated that all candidates, including those applying for non-regular programmes such as NOUN, Distance Learning, Part-Time, and Sandwich courses, must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) during registration. Candidates are required to create a profile code by sending their NIN via their unique phone number to JAMB’s designated shortcodes, 55019 or 66019.
Additionally, JAMB has thoroughly reviewed the processes from the 2024 UTME, addressing challenges and establishing robust mechanisms to prevent their recurrence. Key updates include:
- Generating a comprehensive pool of examination items to meet the demands of the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- Completing the accreditation of examination centres.
- Setting the registration commencement date for January 2025.
JAMB has assured candidates that the upcoming UTME will be unparalleled in its efficiency and transparency. Candidates have been encouraged to create their profiles in advance to avoid delays during registration.
Staff Preparedness and Accountability
To maintain high standards, JAMB has urged its staff to update their details or complete new registrations. This initiative aligns with the Board’s commitment to transparency and security. Staff are required to provide their NIN and complete the process by the end of the week. This step aims to verify identities and uphold the integrity of the examination process.
In Ogun State, the Coordinator, Mr. Hakeem AbdulHameed, reminded staff of the importance of adhering to JAMB’s rules and regulations. He emphasized professionalism and expressed gratitude for their past contributions while soliciting continued support in 2025.
Collaboration with Security Agencies
JAMB has reinforced its partnership with security agencies to ensure a secure examination process. Recently, Mr. Hassan Lawal, Acting Director of the Benin Zonal Office, visited the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Edo State, Commandant Agun Gbenga Joseph. The visit focused on consolidating the existing collaboration between the two bodies. The NSCDC assured JAMB of its continued support, including the deployment of personnel to JAMB facilities nationwide.
Commitment to Excellence
JAMB’s comprehensive preparations and collaborations underscore its dedication to conducting a seamless 2025 UTME. With the adoption of advanced measures and enhanced coordination, the Board is poised to meet the expectations of candidates, parents, and stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration and examination process.
I sent NIN number to 55019 or 66019 but they replied “the process can not be found or value” what to do?
Is jamb registration on- going or they’ve truly postponed its date to 24th January 2025.
Thanks
