The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced plans to commence registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in January 2025. This announcement was made through the Board’s Monday Bulletin, which was obtained in Abuja. Improved Registration and Examination Experience

Enhanced Measures for 2025 UTME

With a satisfactory pool of examination items already generated and all required centres accredited, the Board is confident that the 2025 UTME will set a new standard in examination integrity and efficiency.
JAMB encouraged prospective candidates to create their profiles ahead of time by sending a text message in the format: NIN (space) followed by their eleven-digit NIN number to 55019. This pre-registration step aims to minimize delays and ensure a smooth registration process when the portal officially opens.
Warning Against Henna (Laali or Lale) Application
As part of its effort to streamline the registration and biometric verification process, JAMB has issued a strict warning to candidates regarding the application of henna (Laali or Lale) on their fingers. The Board explained that henna can interfere with biometric verification, which is mandatory for both registration and examination hall access.
Candidates are also cautioned against using harsh chemicals to remove henna designs, as this can damage the finger whorls, making biometric verification extremely difficult or even impossible. Without successful biometric verification, candidates will not be allowed to access their examination questions or participate in the UTME.
JAMB emphasized that candidates must protect their ten fingers throughout the registration and examination process to avoid complications.

What about us that have problem with finger print verification due to allergic reactions that erased the finger prints ,I sat for jamb 2024 and my result was not released until the post utme result was out because they’ll always write investigation verification when I try to check the result so I didn’t get the admission due to this delay ,pls reconsider us so that we’ll have our results on time the same as others pls share this on behalf of my brothers and sisters with the same problem.
