The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates preparing for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now begin generating their profile codes ahead of the official registration exercise.
In a statement released by the Board, JAMB emphasized the importance of early preparation for candidates, advising them to create their profiles in advance to avoid delays and challenges when registration officially begins. To generate their JAMB profile code, candidates are required to send an SMS with their National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019 or 66019 in the following format: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit NIN number.
The Board reiterated that the profile code is a mandatory requirement for completing the UTME registration process. Without it, candidates will not be able to proceed with their registration at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
JAMB also issued a reminder regarding biometric verification, cautioning candidates against applying henna (Laali or Lale) on their fingers. The application of henna can obstruct the biometric verification process, which is an essential part of both registration and examination entry.
Candidates who encounter difficulties in generating their profile codes have been advised to ensure that their NIN details are correctly registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and that they use a valid and functional phone number linked to their NIN.
The Board assured stakeholders of its readiness to conduct a smooth and transparent registration process for the 2025 UTME. Candidates are encouraged to follow the provided guidelines meticulously and stay informed through official JAMB communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
