The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has refuted claims that prospective corps members who have not received their Call-Up Numbers should visit state secretariats to obtain them. In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, the NYSC Ag. Director of Information & Public Relations, Caroline Embu, clarified that such messages are false and did not originate from the scheme.
Registration Details for 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II
NYSC registration for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II began on January 6, 2025, through the official portal at www.nysc.org.ng. Prospective corps members are required to upload key documents such as degree certificates, passports, and matriculation numbers during the registration process. Registration is mandatory for graduates approved by their institution’s Senate or Academic Board within the mobilization period.
Caroline Embu urged prospective corps members who are yet to receive their Call-Up Numbers to remain patient and regularly check their dashboards. She emphasized that all official communication between the scheme and prospective corps members is conducted through individual dashboards and NYSC’s approved social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Threads.
Addressing Registration Portal Concerns
The NYSC also addressed concerns regarding the registration portal’s accessibility. While some prospective corps members reported difficulties accessing the portal, the scheme assured the public that the registration portal for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II remains active. This reassurance follows earlier disruptions experienced on January 5, 2025, when many prospective corps members reported being unable to complete their registrations.
Official Guidance for Prospective Corps Members
In light of the misinformation circulating, the NYSC advised the public to rely solely on updates from its official channels. Prospective corps members are encouraged to complete their registration by following the official step-by-step guide provided by the NYSC, which covers all stages, from account creation to biometric data capture.
About the NYSC
The NYSC is a mandatory program established by the Nigerian government to foster national unity and integration among citizens. Participation in the scheme is a requirement for all Nigerian graduates of tertiary institutions.
This update underscores the NYSC’s commitment to transparency and efficient communication, ensuring that prospective corps members are well-informed throughout the registration process.
