JAMB 2025 Registration Latest News Update for Today, 17th January

As of January 17, 2025, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has yet to officially commence the registration process for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). Candidates eagerly awaiting updates have been advised to stay informed through official JAMB announcements to avoid misinformation or falling victim to fraudulent activities.

JAMB has, however, taken steps to prepare candidates for the forthcoming examination by announcing the recommended reading text for the Use of English subject. The 2025 UTME candidates will study The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba. This new addition is aimed at enriching the literary exposure of candidates and will serve as part of the comprehension, summary, and analysis sections of the examination. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to obtain and familiarize themselves with the text as part of their preparation strategy.

In anticipation of the registration process, JAMB has reiterated the importance of candidates obtaining their National Identification Number (NIN), which remains a mandatory requirement for registration. Additionally, candidates must ensure they have access to a unique and functional phone number that has not been previously used for JAMB registration. This measure is designed to streamline the registration process and minimize cases of multiple or invalid entries, which have been challenges in previous years.

While the exact registration dates have not been confirmed, credible sources speculate that the process may commence on January 15, 2025, and conclude on February 26, 2025. Candidates are urged to treat such information cautiously and await an official statement from JAMB to avoid confusion or premature actions.

In light of these updates, prospective candidates are reminded to prepare all necessary documentation, including a valid personal email address and passport photograph that meets JAMB’s specifications. It is also advisable to start practicing for the examination using available resources such as past questions, study guides, and online practice platforms.

Furthermore, candidates should be wary of unofficial websites or individuals claiming to offer early registration or shortcuts to the process. JAMB has consistently emphasized the importance of registering through accredited centers and using official channels for all inquiries and updates.

The 2025 UTME is expected to follow the standard format, with candidates choosing four subjects relevant to their intended course of study. To ensure optimal preparation, candidates are encouraged to begin studying diligently and utilize the official JAMB syllabus, which outlines the key topics to be covered in each subject.

As the registration period approaches, JAMB’s emphasis on transparency and fairness remains evident. The Board continues to reassure candidates of its commitment to a smooth and efficient process that prioritizes the integrity of the examination.

Prospective candidates are advised to stay updated by visiting JAMB’s official website regularly and monitoring reliable news platforms for any new developments. With adequate preparation and adherence to guidelines, candidates can look forward to a successful registration process and examination experience in 2025.
