The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the official dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration. The registration process will commence on January 31, 2025, and end on March 5, 2025, giving prospective candidates ample time to complete their applications.
This announcement was made by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with media executives in Lagos. He also revealed that the 2025 UTME would be held from March 8, 2025, with a mock examination scheduled for February 23, 2025, for candidates opting to participate.
Key Details for 2025 Registration
JAMB has reiterated that all candidates must meet certain requirements to ensure a smooth registration process. The National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for all applicants, including those applying for Direct Entry. Candidates must send their NIN via text to 55019 or 66019 to generate a profile code, which is required for the registration.

- Registration Fee for UTME Only (No Mock): ₦7,200

Mock Examination for Familiarization
The mock examination, scheduled for February 23, 2025, is optional and designed to familiarize candidates with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. This initiative aims to boost candidates’ confidence and prepare them for the main UTME.
Expanded Examination Centres
To accommodate the increasing number of candidates, JAMB has approved 870 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for the 2025 examination, an increase from the 747 centres used in 2024. The expansion is part of the Board’s efforts to enhance the examination process and minimize technical challenges.
Advice for Candidates
Candidates are encouraged to begin preparations early by creating their profiles, gathering required documents, and staying updated on JAMB’s official platforms. JAMB has warned that late registration will not be entertained, and all candidates must complete the process within the specified timeframe.
Direct Entry Applicants
The sale of application forms and e-PINs for Direct Entry (DE) candidates will commence on March 10, 2025, and run until April 7, 2025. DE candidates are also required to provide their NIN and adhere to the outlined registration procedures.
