Kosofe Local Government in Lagos State has rolled out the fourth edition of its free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration initiative, aimed at empowering students and promoting academic excellence within the community.
The Chief Press Secretary to the council chairman, Mr. Oluwole Obisanya, announced the initiative in a statement on Monday, emphasizing the council’s commitment to educational development under the Kosofe Edu-Support Initiative (#KosofeConcern).
Commitment to Academic Excellence
“I am pleased to announce the commencement of our fourth edition of free JAMB forms distribution under the Kosofe Edu-Support Initiative,” Obisanya stated.
He explained that the program is designed to ease the financial burden on families and support students aspiring to pursue tertiary education.
Eligibility and Screening Details
To ensure fairness and transparency in the exercise, applicants will undergo a screening process to confirm their eligibility. The criteria for participation include:
- Must be a resident of Kosofe Local Government Area.
- Must be 16 years of age or above before November 2024.
- SS1 and SS2 students are not eligible to apply.
- Parents or guardians are not permitted at the screening venue.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to bring the following documents to the screening:
- Photocopy of NIN Card.
- Photocopy of LASRA Card.
- Photocopy of O’Level Result (if available).
Program Venue and Dates
The distribution and screening exercise will take place as follows:
- Date: January 29 to January 30, 2025.
- Time: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.
- Venue: Kosofe Local Government Secretariat Hall.
