In a significant move to support education for underprivileged students, the Shehu ABG Foundation has covered the 2025 JAMB registration fees for 1,500 candidates in Kaduna State.
The initiative, announced by the Founder and CEO, Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG, is aimed at providing access to higher education for children from less privileged backgrounds across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
Ensuring Inclusivity and Fair Selection
The beneficiaries were carefully chosen to reflect religious, ethnic, and political diversity, ensuring that only the most vulnerable students—those who had no financial means to pay for JAMB registration—were selected.
While presenting the free JAMB forms to committee members from all 23 local governments, the Former House of Representatives member, represented by Ibrahim Wusono, urged them to be transparent and ensure that only deserving candidates benefited.
100 Scholarships for Health-Related Courses
Beyond sponsoring JAMB fees, the foundation also announced scholarships for 100 students pursuing health-related courses. These students, also selected from all 23 local governments, will have their tuition fully covered to prevent them from dropping out due to financial hardship.
Hon. Shehu ABG expressed concern over the rising cost of education, describing it as a growing challenge that has put higher education out of reach for many families.
Call for More Support for Education
The politician called on well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to join in tackling the education crisis by investing in initiatives that help reduce financial barriers for students.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting education and healthcare, especially for struggling parents who want a better future for their children.
“We intend to sustain this program to assist as many young people as possible, as they hold the future of this state and the country at large.”
The Shehu ABG Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in education, ensuring that talented but financially disadvantaged students in Kaduna State have a fair chance at pursuing their academic dreams.
