The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Asefon Sunday Dayo, has announced the distribution of free JAMB forms to indigent students in Ekiti State, as part of efforts to support youth empowerment and education.
Asefon revealed that the first batch of 500 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms has been procured, with beneficiaries selected from Ado Grammar School and other schools in Ado Local Government Area.
Breakdown of Beneficiaries
- 50 students from Ado Grammar School (Asefon’s alma mater)
- 450 students from other schools in Ado Local Government Area
Commitment to Educational Development
According to Asefon, the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring that no Nigerian youth is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
“Education remains the most powerful tool for personal and national development. By eliminating financial barriers—just as President Tinubu has done through the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for student loans—we are investing in the future of our students and strengthening the foundation of our nation’s progress.”
More Educational Support to Come
Asefon emphasized that this is just one of many planned interventions aimed at ensuring that students receive the necessary support to excel academically.
He also commended stakeholders supporting students’ welfare, urging collective responsibility in creating opportunities for young Nigerians to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
“I assure Nigerian students of my unwavering commitment to championing their cause and advocating for policies that prioritize their educational needs,” he stated.
With this initiative, Asefon reinforces the federal government’s dedication to youth development, ensuring that more students in Ekiti State and beyond have access to higher education opportunities.
