No Extension of UTME Registration Beyond March 8, JAMB Warns

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that the registration deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) remains March 8, 2025, with no plans for an extension.

JAMB Urges Candidates to Register Early

According to JAMB Spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the deadline has been clearly communicated through official channels, advertisements, and the 2025 UTME calendar. He warned candidates against delaying their registration, emphasizing that there will be no last-minute extension.

“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period. This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. We urge all individuals who wish to participate to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” he stated.

Over 1.5 Million Candidates Already Registered

Despite the warning about the decline in recent registrations, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully completed their UTME registration, aligning with JAMB’s projected figures for the 2025 examination cycle.

Dr. Benjamin stressed that JAMB operates on a fixed schedule, with multiple subsequent activities such as examinations, results processing, and the admissions exercise, all of which depend on the timely conclusion of registration.

“These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations rely on the completion of our processes. Therefore, extending the registration period would disrupt not only the Board’s plans but also those of our partners,” he added.

Final Call for UTME Registration

JAMB has urged all interested candidates to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid missing out on the 2025 UTME. The Board reiterated that all prospective applicants must adhere to the established timeline, as no exemptions or deadline extensions will be granted.
