The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restated its firm stance on the issue of awaiting results for Direct Entry (DE) candidates. In a recent announcement, JAMB made it clear that no candidate applying for the 2024 DE admission with an “awaiting result” status will be considered for admission.
This warning is directed at candidates who registered for the 2024 Direct Entry using IJMB or JUPEB but have not yet uploaded their results. The board emphasized that all such candidates must urgently visit any approved CBT centre to upload their results as soon as they are available.
According to Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, candidates who fail to comply with this instruction risk losing their admission opportunities entirely. “Any candidate whose application still shows ‘awaiting result’ will be disqualified. There will be no exceptions,” he stated.
The board highlighted that this policy is consistent with what is already in place for UTME candidates, reinforcing the need for timely verification of candidate credentials to ensure eligibility.
JAMB also issued an early reminder to prospective 2025 Direct Entry applicants to prepare ahead and ensure that once their results are released, they upload them promptly. This proactive step, according to JAMB, will help avoid the same issues faced by some 2024 applicants.
Candidates are urged not to delay and to take immediate action to secure their chances of gaining admission this year.
