The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has once again emphasized its uncompromising stance on biometric verification for all 2025 UTME candidates. According to the board, biometric verification is mandatory, and no candidate will be allowed to sit for the exam without it.
In an official statement, JAMB confirmed that all candidates must undergo biometric verification at the examination venue using the Biometric Verification Machine (BVM). This process is not just a routine check — it is a compulsory requirement that confirms the identity of each candidate before they are granted access to the exam hall.
The board further explained that attendance will also be recorded through biometric verification, ensuring that only verified candidates are documented and allowed to participate in the examination.
JAMB made it clear: “No Biometric, No Exam.”
This policy is part of the board’s continued efforts to curb impersonation, exam malpractice, and other irregularities that have plagued past UTME sessions. Candidates are strongly advised to avoid any actions or circumstances that could compromise their biometric data or verification process.
As the 2025 UTME approaches, candidates are encouraged to prepare ahead, ensure their fingerprints are properly captured during registration, and avoid injuries or alterations to their fingertips that could affect verification on exam day.
