Kaduna: ABG Foundation Sponsors 5,000 Students for JAMB 2025 CBT Training

In a major boost to educational development in Kaduna State, the Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG Foundation has launched a large-scale JAMB CBT training programme for 5,000 students across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state. The initiative, flagged off this week, is designed to prepare students for the upcoming 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by equipping them with the digital skills and confidence needed to succeed in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

Bridging the Digital Divide in Rural Areas

The Foundation said the programme is part of a broader effort to bridge the educational gap, particularly for students in underserved rural areas who often lack access to computers and internet resources. Many of these students are writing the JAMB CBT for the first time, and the training aims to level the playing field by offering hands-on experience in a simulated test environment.

According to the Programme Coordinator and Consultant, Hon. Solomon Nuhu Katuka, the training officially commenced on Friday, April 4, 2025, with students from Zaria, Sabon Gari, and Giwa LGAs participating in the opening session held at Kaduna Hall, Federal University of Education (formerly FCE Zaria).

Training Schedule Across Kaduna State

The training has been carefully scheduled across several days and locations to ensure all 5,000 students get personalized attention and practical experience. Those from Kaduna South, Chikun, and Kajuru will undergo training beginning Monday, April 7, at Richgate Computer Test Centre, Sabon Tasha. Students from Kaduna North and Igabi will train at SMC/Sultan Bello E-Library Hall, Kaduna.

Meanwhile, students from Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Jema’a, and Sanga will be hosted on April 11 at centers in Kafanchan and the National Open University, Kagoro. Candidates from Jaba, Kachia, and Kagarko will train at their respective locations in Kachia and Kagarko. Additional sessions for other LGAs are planned to take place concurrently across designated venues in the state.

A Strong Commitment to Education

“This training is part of the Foundation’s commitment to empowering young people with the tools they need to succeed in their academic pursuits,” said Hon. Katuka, praising the efforts of Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Kaduna North Federal Constituency.

Katuka highlighted that the Foundation’s work is especially important for students in rural communities who have limited exposure to digital tools. By offering this support free of charge, the Foundation is positioning education as a path to social change and long-term development.

Students Grateful for the Opportunity

Several students who participated in the opening session expressed appreciation to the Foundation for providing the training, saying it has boosted their confidence and reduced their anxiety ahead of the national exam, scheduled to begin on April 25, 2025.
