JAMB Issues Fresh Instruction to Direct Entry Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a fresh directive to all 2024 Direct Entry (DE) candidates, especially those who registered with awaiting results from IJMB or JUPEB, warning them to upload their results immediately upon release or risk being disqualified from the admission process.

In an official statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board emphasized that no candidate would be considered for admission if their application is still marked as “Awaiting Result” (AR).

No Admission for Candidates Without Uploaded Results

JAMB made it clear that candidates who fail to upload their academic results, even after they are released, will be treated as having no result at all. This policy, according to the Board, aligns with its stance on UTME applicants, where “awaiting result” is no longer acceptable for final admission consideration.

“During the 2024 DE registration period, some candidates registered with awaiting results from IJMB and JUPEB, but have not yet uploaded these results,” Benjamin said. “Please note that no candidate will be considered for admission with awaiting results, similar to the policy for UTME candidates.”

He warned that any candidate whose record still shows “AR” by the time the admission process begins will be automatically disqualified from consideration.

JAMB Calls for Proactive Submission of Results

The Board also advised candidates preparing for the 2025 Direct Entry admission to be proactive by uploading their results as soon as they are available, in order to avoid future issues. Early uploading, JAMB said, ensures that candidates can be properly screened, verified, and considered eligible for admission.

“It is essential all credentials are verified to determine eligibility,” the board stated, adding that candidates who fail to upload results will simply be treated as not having any qualifications.

Direct Entry Registration and Exam Timelines

The 2025 Direct Entry application, which began on Wednesday, March 12, is still ongoing, as JAMB has extended the deadline until further notice. The decision was made to allow more time for ongoing investigations into fraudulent A-level result submissions.

Meanwhile, the 2025 UTME Mock Exam, originally scheduled for April 5, has now been rescheduled to Thursday, April 10, and the main UTME will hold from Friday, April 25 to Monday, May 5, 2025.
