As the countdown to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) continues, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued fresh reminders and updates for candidates preparing for both the mock exam and the main UTME.
From mock slip printing to important warnings for Direct Entry (DE) applicants, here are the top updates JAMB candidates need to know this Sunday.
Mock Exam Slip Still Available for Printing
JAMB has announced that all candidates who registered for the optional UTME mock examination can now print their notification slips online. The mock exam is scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the mock slip includes important details such as the exam date, venue (CBT centre), session time, and candidate instructions. Candidates are strongly advised to print their slip early to avoid last-minute issues.
To print the slip, candidates should:
- Visit the official JAMB website: www.jamb.gov.ng
- Click on “2025 Mock Slip Printing”
- Enter their registration number and print the document
JAMB also urged candidates to visit their assigned CBT centres at least a day before the exam to avoid confusion or lateness.
Mock Exam Set for Thursday, April 10
The mock UTME, which serves as a trial run for the main exam, will be held this coming Thursday. JAMB has reminded candidates that 7:00 a.m. is the arrival time, while biometric verification will begin at 7:25 a.m. Candidates who fail to complete this verification process will not be allowed to sit for the exam.
All exam rules will apply during the mock, including the ban on mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, bags, and books. Candidates are only required to come with their printed mock slip and a pen if necessary.
Main UTME to Start April 25
The 2025 main UTME will begin on Friday, April 25 and run until Monday, May 5, 2025. JAMB has repeatedly emphasized the importance of arriving early and following all instructions to avoid being disqualified or denied entry.
Candidates are also reminded to stay alert for announcements regarding main exam slip reprinting, which will be available soon.
DE Candidates Warned Over Awaiting Results
In a related development, JAMB has warned Direct Entry (DE) candidates who registered with awaiting IJMB or JUPEB results to upload their results immediately upon release. Failure to do so, JAMB says, will lead to automatic disqualification from the 2024 DE admission process.
JAMB has also urged those applying for the 2025 DE admission to be proactive by ensuring their results are uploaded as soon as they become available.
Direct Entry Registration Still Ongoing
The Direct Entry registration, which began on March 12, is still ongoing, despite earlier rumors that it would close on April 7. JAMB has confirmed there is no official closing date yet, and candidates can still register at designated centres across the country.
JAMB said the extended timeline is to allow thorough screening and verification of candidates’ credentials, especially in light of recent discoveries of forged A-Level results.
Final Note
With the mock just days away and the main UTME drawing closer, JAMB candidates are advised to:
- Print their mock slips
- Locate and visit their centres ahead of time
- Prepare adequately using the JAMB syllabus and CBT practice tools
- Avoid fake news and rely only on official JAMB channels for updates
