As candidates gear up for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) set to begin later this month, one frequently asked question is whether the exam slip must be printed in colour, or if a black and white printout is acceptable.
A candidate, Isiaka Abdulsomod, asked:
“Should the JAMB exam slip be printed in colour, or is black and white acceptable?”
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that for the main UTME, candidates are not required to print their slips in colour. A black and white printout is fully acceptable, provided all details are clearly visible and readable.
To avoid any issues at the exam venue, here are a few important tips:
- Make sure your passport photograph on the slip is visible
- Confirm that your exam date, time, and centre details are clear
- Keep your slip clean, unfolded, and free from stains or tears
While a coloured copy may look more attractive, JAMB accepts both coloured and black and white reprints, as long as the content is legible.
Candidates are also advised to check their exam slip thoroughly for any errors and ensure they arrive early at their designated CBT centres with all necessary materials.
