1. JAMB Warns Institutions Against Bypassing CAPS

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has issued a strong warning to tertiary institutions admitting students outside the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Speaking through the Ogun State Coordinator of JAMB, he made it clear that any admission not processed through CAPS is invalid.

“JAMB will not give credit to those who do not deserve credit. We will expose you when you are not doing the right thing,” he stated during the matriculation ceremony at Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) in Ogun State.

This move reinforces JAMB’s commitment to transparency and standardization in the admission process across Nigerian institutions.

2. JAMB Disburses ₦397 Million for Mock UTME Officials’ Transport

Ahead of the 2025 Mock UTME holding tomorrow, Thursday, April 10, JAMB has disbursed a total of ₦397,030,900 in transport allowances to 1,909 officials who will be involved in the supervision of the exam nationwide.

According to the Board’s Director of Finance, Mr. Mufutau Bello, this figure covers only the first phase of payments and represents one-third of the total number of officials expected to participate.

“The success of this exercise is crucial not only to the integrity of our education system but to the national reputation of our processes,” Bello said during a review meeting in Abuja.

3. JAMB Uncovers 585 Fake A-Level Certificates

In a bold crackdown on academic fraud, JAMB has uncovered 585 fake A-Level certificates used by candidates seeking admission into Nigerian institutions. This led to the arrest of four individuals involved in the forgery.

The discovery is part of JAMB’s renewed effort to uphold the credibility and integrity of its admission system, especially with the ongoing use of the Direct Entry platform.

4. Kwara Students Suffer Over Lack of Accredited CBT Centres

In Kwara State, students from Baruten Local Government Area are facing serious challenges due to the absence of accredited JAMB CBT centres in their community.

Many candidates have to travel long distances—some even across state borders—to register or sit for their UTME. These journeys have been described as mentally, physically, and financially draining.

Despite Baruten receiving over ₦14.6 billion in revenue between 2020 and 2023, including ₦3.6 billion in VAT, not a single CBT centre exists in the area. Advocates and students have called on the Kwara State government to urgently address this infrastructural gap and make registration easier for rural students.

  2. We appreciate the full concern of the registrar, and in regard to that I want to notify the entire org that candidates from kwara north, edu, patigi,Tsaragi and Shonga are facing severe challenges in their exams due to the non facilitated and accredited Centers and devices.

I opined the organization should work towards the betterment.
