I Started Doing Guess Work Because Hunger Won’t Let Me Think – JAMB 2025 Mock Candidate Shares Frustrating Experience

While the JAMB 2025 Mock Exam was meant to help candidates prepare for the main UTME in a calm, organized way, not everyone had a smooth experience. A candidate named Hyelni has shared her emotional and difficult experience after waiting for hours at her CBT centre before the exam began.

“My experience was sad. I came before 6:30 but started after 12! We were hungry, thirsty and tired before we even wrote the exams,” she said.

Like many other students who faced delays, Hyelni’s exam didn’t start until hours after her arrival, leaving her exhausted and unable to focus properly during the test.

“I started doing guess work because the hunger won’t let me think well,” she added.

Despite the challenge, she noted that her Biology and English questions were okay, but Physics was very difficult for her.

“You see Physics! Only God can help me,” she said, expressing how the stress and lack of food affected her performance.

A Shared Struggle

Hyelni’s story is not an isolated one. Across Nigeria, several candidates have reported delays, poor coordination, and lack of proper welfare arrangements at some CBT centres during the mock exam.

Many have called on JAMB to monitor centres more strictly and ensure that candidates are not subjected to unnecessary stress before they even begin the exam.

Moving Forward

Although the mock exam is just for practice, experiences like Hyelni’s highlight the real challenges many students face. As we approach the main UTME starting April 25, candidates and parents are hoping for a better, more organized experience across all centres.

  1. As far as I can remember, the topics that came out the most in chemistry were, organic chemistry, chemical equilibrium, and calculations on solubility.
While physics were a.c and d.c, power and workdone, efficiency of machines, half-life calculations.
While in biology were ecology, Darwin’s evolution, heredity, variations and genetics, cell and adaptations and also respiratory system.
While in English read that lekki headmaster line by line and digest it because the questions they set would be hard for those who just read summary of the book
