A candidate for the JAMB 2025 Mock Examination, Blessing, has called out the poor handling of the mock exam at Aloy Unique Investment CBT Centre, located in Okoko Item, Abia State, describing the experience as a total disaster.
In a heartfelt account, she shared how candidates were left stranded from early morning until 4:00 PM, only to be told they wouldn’t be writing the exam after all.
“We left our various houses very early in the morning to a very far place where we knew nobody,” she said.
“We stayed there from the early hours of the morning till 4 PM and still didn’t write our exams.”
The situation, according to Blessing, caused emotional stress, physical exhaustion, and fear, especially due to the current state of insecurity in the country.
“With the alarming security dispositions in Nigeria, JAMB expects we teenagers to wait till whatever time they want, knowing fully well we came from far places,” she added.
Despite their patience and sacrifice, the exam was not held, leaving the students frustrated and disappointed.
“It wasn’t funny because it was a total waste of time, money, and strength, while causing us mental and emotional stress. We didn’t write the exams.”
Candidates Demand Accountability
Blessing’s report highlights a growing concern among JAMB candidates this year — that some approved CBT centres are not competent or prepared to conduct such examinations.
“JAMB should look into the centres they approve. Some are not competent,” she wrote, adding that candidates do not want this kind of confusion repeated during the main UTME.
A Call for Action
As the main UTME approaches on April 25, students and parents are calling on JAMB to re-evaluate centres with poor records, especially those that delayed, cancelled, or mismanaged the mock exam.
There is a strong call for better supervision, improved communication, and safety awareness, particularly for candidates traveling long distances to unknown towns and locations.
