“I Came by 5:50, Still No Exam by 3:00” – JAMB 2025 Mock Candidate at IMSU Shares Frustrating Experience

A candidate, Nathan, has shared a disturbing experience from his JAMB 2025 Mock Exam centre located at Imo State University (IMSU), where students were left waiting for hours without writing the exam — despite repeated thumbprint attempts.

“Damn. Here in IMSU, I came around 5:50 AM. Still, up until 3:00 PM we’ve not started — after doing thumbprint for the 3rd time,” he said.

Nathan’s experience paints a picture of confusion, poor coordination, and delay at a centre that should have started operations early in the morning. Instead, students remained stranded for nearly 9 hours without a clear explanation or progress.

Repeated Thumbprinting, No Exam

According to Nathan, candidates were asked to thumbprint multiple times, which is part of JAMB’s biometric verification process. However, despite doing it three times, the exam had not started as of mid-afternoon.

This type of disorganization left many students tired, frustrated, and unsure if they would even write the exam before the day ended.

A Growing Concern

Nathan’s case is not isolated. Several reports from across the country point to similar issues — including delays, repeated verification, and poor communication from CBT centres during the mock exam held on April 10, 2025.

With the main UTME approaching on April 25, candidates are calling on JAMB to urgently review the conduct of some CBT centres and prevent these same problems from affecting the real exam.
