A candidate, Sunshine, revealed how she received multiple WhatsApp messages from an unknown number offering to sell 2025 UTME questions for a fee.

The Scam Offer

According to Sunshine, the scammer promised to send the “whole 30 questions” for ₦20,000, or “part of them” for ₦15,000.

“Yes, I received lots of WhatsApp messages from a certain number telling me that I’ll pay ₦20,000 for the whole of the 30 questions and ₦15,000 for part of them,” she said.

Fortunately, Sunshine did not fall for the scam and decided to alert other candidates to be cautious.

JAMB’s Warning

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has repeatedly warned that there is no way for anyone to access UTME questions before the official examination date.
The so-called “expo” or “runz” offers are fake and are often used by scammers to collect money from desperate candidates.

JAMB has emphasized that all exam questions are secured under strict supervision until the moment the exam starts at the approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Candidates who fall for such scams risk losing their money and may also face disciplinary action if caught engaging in examination malpractice.

What Candidates Should Remember

  • Do not pay anyone claiming to have UTME questions before the exam
  • Stay away from expo groups or social media accounts promising leaked questions
  • Focus on studying with official JAMB past questions and syllabus
  • Report any suspicious messages to JAMB or security authorities

Final Advice

As the 2025 UTME is set to begin on April 25, 2025, JAMB advises candidates to trust only in their preparation and ignore all shortcuts. Falling for scams not only wastes money but could destroy a candidate’s chances of securing admission.
