“I Wrote JAMB in 2022 and Failed to Get Admission — I Pray 2025 Will Be My Year” – Candidate Shares Emotional Story

For many candidates preparing for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the journey toward gaining admission has not been an easy one.
One of such candidates, Owoade Opeyemi Oluwatosin, has shared her emotional story of persistence after facing heartbreak during her first attempt.

Opeyemi revealed that she first wrote JAMB in 2022 with high hopes of gaining admission into a university.
However, after failing to meet the cut-off mark that year, her dreams were put on hold.

“All Ways Seemed Closed Since 2020”

Opeyemi explained that she finished her secondary school education in 2020 but could not proceed to the university immediately.

“I tried doing JAMB for the first time in 2022. I was heartbroken when I didn’t have the cut-off mark and wasn’t given admission,” she said.
“Since then, all ways seemed closed. Even the private schools I tried entering did not work out.”

Her words reflect the silent struggles that many young Nigerians face after leaving secondary school — years of waiting, trying, and still hoping against all odds.

“I Pray This Year JAMB Favours Me”

Despite the disappointments of the past, Opeyemi has refused to give up.
She is sitting for the 2025 UTME and is full of hope and prayers that this time, things will turn around.

“I pray for grace in this year’s UTME so I can enter any university of my choice to study the course of my choice,” she said.

Her story shows the deep emotional burden many candidates carry into every exam season, fueled not just by the desire to pass but by years of setbacks and longing for a fresh start.

A Story of Pain, Persistence, and Hope

Opeyemi’s experience is a strong reminder that for many candidates, the JAMB examination is not just an academic event.
It is a defining moment that represents years of dreams, heartbreaks, and the resilience to keep trying again.

As the 2025 UTME draws nearer, stories like Opeyemi’s inspire others to stay strong, keep preparing, and trust that one day, their efforts will be rewarded.

We wish Opeyemi and all other 2025 UTME candidates success as they continue their journey toward fulfilling their dreams.
