JAMB Responds to Concerns Over Biometric Failures During 2025 UTME

Concerned Parent Raises Alarm Over Lack of Reschedule Message

A parent, known on X (formerly Twitter) as @ELDERMYELDER, has taken to social media to raise concern over the delay in rescheduling his child’s exam after a biometric verification failure during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to his post, the candidate was unable to take the exam on April 24 due to fingerprint mismatch at the CBT centre. Although the centre issued a rescheduling form, no follow-up notification has been received since then.

“My child went to write JAMB on 24th April but biometric verification failed and was given a form to fill for reschedule. I haven’t received any message till now and the exam ends tomorrow,” he wrote.

JAMB Reassures Candidates With Biometric Issues

Responding to the concern, the official X handle of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (@JAMBHQ) assured that all candidates affected by biometric verification failures will be notified accordingly.

“Kindly inform him to keep checking his profile for updates. All candidates with biometric verification problems would be notified on the next line of action in due course,” the board replied.

This statement confirms that JAMB is aware of the cases and is in the process of rescheduling affected candidates. However, no specific date has been announced yet.

Candidates Urged to Monitor Their Profiles

JAMB advised all affected candidates to frequently check their JAMB profiles and portals for updates regarding their new exam schedule.

It is important to note that biometric verification is a strict requirement for sitting the UTME. However, the board has made provisions for candidates who are genuinely unable to verify due to system or fingerprint-related issues.

Candidates are reminded that no one will be left out unjustly, and the board remains committed to ensuring every candidate has a fair opportunity to take the exam.
