Ikeja, Nigeria – March 5, 2025 – In a major push to support education and youth empowerment, Abisola Omisore, a leading aspirant for the Ikeja Local Government Chairmanship under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has awarded scholarships and distributed 250 free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to students in Ikeja.
This initiative, launched through the Abisola Omisore Education Support Initiative (AOESI), aims to help students from low-income backgrounds gain access to higher education without the burden of financial constraints.
Education as a Pathway to a Better Future
Speaking at the scholarship and JAMB form distribution ceremony, Omisore emphasized that education is key to eradicating poverty and pledged to continue supporting students in need.
“This is something I have done for years because I believe education is the most powerful tool for change. If elected as Chairman, I will expand this initiative to ensure that more students in Ikeja can achieve their dreams without financial limitations.”
To further motivate academic excellence, Omisore announced that the top three students in the 2025 UTME from the beneficiaries will receive full academic scholarships to cover their university education.
Students Express Gratitude
For many of the recipients, Omisore’s initiative is a life-changing opportunity.
Abimbola Agbeniga, an aspiring Economics student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), described the support as a huge financial relief for her family.
“I have always dreamed of furthering my education, but financial constraints were a major challenge. This opportunity has given me hope, and I am determined to excel in my UTME to qualify for the full scholarship,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Samuel Eze, praised Omisore’s consistent efforts to support education in Ikeja, describing him as one of the most dedicated youth leaders in the area.

With this initiative, Omisore continues to solidify his reputation as a strong advocate for educational development. He has pledged that if elected as the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, his administration will prioritize education and youth empowerment.
“This is beyond politics for me. I am passionate about investing in young minds, regardless of tribe or gender. If given the opportunity to lead Ikeja, I will ensure that education is at the heart of our development agenda,” Omisore affirmed.
