The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has announced plans to commence Computer-Based Test (CBT) training for all students sponsored by the state government to sit for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This initiative is part of the state’s effort to improve student performance in national exams and ensure that government-sponsored candidates are well-prepared for JAMB’s computer-based testing format.
State Government Takes Steps to Boost Student Success
Speaking on the new development, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed, explained that the CBT training will help bridge the gap in digital exam readiness among students, especially those in rural areas who may not have prior exposure to computer-based examinations.
He noted that the training is a key part of the government’s broader plan to strengthen education in the state. According to him, “The training aims to equip our students with the skills to excel in all examinations supported by the Bauchi State government.”
Dr. Mohammed emphasized that education remains a top priority for the current administration under Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and that the Ministry of Education is determined to give every child in Bauchi State the best opportunity to succeed academically.
Parents Reminded of School Resumption Date
In the same announcement, the commissioner reminded parents and guardians that the resumption date for the continuation of second term for both day and boarding schools across the state has been fixed for Sunday, April 6, 2025.
He called on school authorities, students, and parents to take note of the date and ensure full compliance for a smooth return to academic activities.
A Model for Other States?
The move by the Bauchi State Ministry of Education to offer structured CBT training for JAMB candidates is being praised by education advocates as a step in the right direction. With the 2025 JAMB UTME scheduled to begin on Friday, April 25, early preparation and digital literacy will play a major role in candidates’ performance.
It is expected that the training will cover basic computer navigation, CBT question handling, time management during exams, and practical exposure to mock test environments.
As other states observe Bauchi’s proactive approach, it could serve as a model for similar interventions aimed at improving JAMB success rates nationwide.
