As the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration continues, candidates have raised concerns over persistent network failures at JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country.
A social media user, @AugustusAgbaje, took to X (formerly Twitter) on February 4, 2025, to express frustration over the situation. He wrote:
“JAMB should kindly come to our aid, I was at a CBT center yesterday to register my children from morning till evening, no network, and the same experience today. You people need to quickly address this issue of slow JAMB network. Many students are becoming frustrated.”
The post has garnered significant attention, with hundreds of views and engagements, reflecting a widespread concern among candidates struggling to complete their UTME registration before the March 8, 2025 deadline.
JAMB Yet to Address Widespread Complaints
Despite these complaints, JAMB has yet to issue an official statement addressing the ongoing network failures. However, candidates continue to experience delays, with many having to return multiple times to CBT centres due to the slow registration process.
CBT centres play a critical role in biometric verification, document submission, and ePIN validation, all of which require a stable network connection to process registrations smoothly. Reports indicate that in some locations, candidates wait for hours without being able to complete their registration.
Call for Urgent Intervention
Candidates and parents are urging JAMB officials to improve network connectivity at CBT centres to prevent further delays and frustration. With the registration deadline fast approaching, stakeholders fear that thousands of candidates could miss their opportunity to sit for the 2025 UTME if the issue is not resolved swiftly.
Advice to Candidates
To minimize delays, candidates are advised to:
- Visit their preferred CBT centre early in the day.
- Ensure they have all required documents and registration details ready.
- Consider checking alternative accredited CBT centres in their region where network conditions may be better.
- Keep monitoring JAMB’s official channels for updates on any network improvements.
JAMB has previously assured that it remains committed to a transparent and seamless registration process, but with the ongoing challenges, candidates hope for a swift resolution to avoid disruptions in the 2025 UTME registration process.
