I Paid ₦500 But Nothing Changed” – JAMB Candidate Laments After Visiting CBT Centre

As candidates await the full activation of the JAMB 2025 UTME platform, many are already encountering confusion and challenges related to accessing their updated profiles. One such candidate, identified as Chinedu, has shared his experience after attempting to resolve the issue at his registration centre.

In a comment made on JAMB2025.com, Chinedu explained that he was facing the same issue recently addressed by JAMB on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle — where candidates who used the same phone number and email as in previous years were only able to view their old (2024) profile upon logging in.

Hoping to find a solution, Chinedu said he visited the CBT centre where he completed his 2025 registration, but to his disappointment, he was charged ₦500 for assistance that offered no new help.

“Thanks for the update. I was facing the same challenge that made me go to the CBT centre where I did my registration. They charged me ₦500 only to assist, but they did nothing that I haven’t done before,” he wrote.

This experience mirrors the concerns of many other candidates who have been anxious about not seeing their 2025 registration details online yet. However, JAMB has since reassured the public that there’s no need for alarm. The board explained that the 2025 platform is not yet made visible to candidates, which is why profiles may still show information from 2024.

Candidates are now being urged to exercise patience and avoid unnecessary payments at CBT centres for issues that JAMB has already confirmed are temporary. Once the 2025 UTME platform is fully enabled, all candidates will be able to access their current details, including exam dates and venues.

For now, the safest approach is to wait for JAMB’s official announcement regarding the activation of the 2025 portal and reprinting of exam slips.

JAMB has also advised candidates to monitor their emails and official JAMB platforms closely for updates, and only visit CBT centres when instructed or for verified technical issues.
