A 2025 UTME candidate, Victory Enakevwerhe, has expressed heartbreak and frustration after the JAMB mock examination failed to take place at Bellarks Polytechnic, Kwale.
Victory, who had prepared and arrived for the exam, revealed that no mock examination was conducted at the centre, leaving candidates disappointed after hours of waiting.
A Heartbreaking Experience
Sharing his experience, Victory said:
“JAMB UTME mock did not hold at Bellarks Polytechnic, Kwale. It was so heartbreaking.”
Like many candidates across the country, Victory had hoped to use the mock exam as a way to prepare for the main UTME. However, the failure of the centre to conduct the exam caused anxiety and disappointment for those affected.
Other Reports of Mock Exam Issues
Victory’s case adds to several complaints across Nigeria, where candidates reported issues such as:
- Mock exams starting extremely late
- Centres cancelling mock sessions without clear explanations
- Poor communication from officials
- Technical failures leading to rescheduling or outright cancellation
JAMB had earlier explained that the mock exam serves as a trial to test new innovations ahead of the main UTME, and acknowledged that certain challenges were anticipated.
JAMB’s Assurance for the Main Exam
Despite the issues faced during the mock, JAMB has assured candidates that:
- The challenges experienced during the mock will not affect the main UTME.
- More supervision, technical support, and stronger monitoring will be in place for the main UTME starting April 25, 2025.
Candidates who missed the mock exam are encouraged not to lose hope, as the main examination remains the most important phase for admission processing.
Final Advice
Candidates who experienced difficulties during the mock are advised to:
- Keep preparing diligently for the main exam
- Arrive early at their assigned CBT centre
- Remain calm and alert on exam day
