A 2025 UTME candidate, Bright Founder, has shared a troubling experience regarding the recently concluded JAMB mock examination, expressing deep concern over long delays that eventually prevented him from writing the exam.
Bright explained that despite arriving at his designated centre 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time, he was unable to sit for the mock even after waiting until 5:30 PM.
Candidate’s Frustration
Describing his ordeal, Bright said:
“I also experienced delay in my mock exam, whereas I didn’t even write it. I got to the centre 30 minutes before the exam and yet I couldn’t even write the damn thing despite waiting till 5:30 pm.”
He expressed fears that if similar problems occur during the main UTME, many candidates could miss the opportunity to write their exam altogether.
“I hope this nuisance doesn’t repeat itself on the main exam or else a lot of people won’t be able to write the exam,” he added.
Recurring Mock Challenges Across Centres
Bright’s experience echoes similar complaints from candidates nationwide who faced:
- Hours of unexplained delays
- Poor communication from CBT centre officials
- Cases where candidates were told to go home without writing
JAMB had earlier acknowledged that the mock exam was used to test new features and systems ahead of the main exam, admitting that some challenges were anticipated.
