JAMB 2025: Candidates Advised to Create Profiles Ahead of Registration Kickoff

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised prospective candidates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to create their profiles ahead of the official registration kickoff in January 2025. This advisory comes as part of JAMB’s efforts to streamline the registration process and minimize delays that may arise from last-minute preparations.

Candidates are required to create their profiles by sending a text message: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit NIN number to 55019. This step is essential as it enables JAMB to generate a unique profile code for each candidate, which serves as the foundation for the registration process. Without this profile code, candidates will not be able to proceed with their UTME registration.

JAMB emphasized that early profile creation will help prevent technical glitches and congestion on the registration portal when it officially opens. It also provides candidates ample time to resolve any potential issues that may arise during the profile creation process, such as errors in personal information or challenges related to their National Identification Number (NIN).

In addition to profile creation, JAMB reiterated its strict guidelines regarding biometric verification during registration and examination. Candidates have been warned against applying henna (Laali or Lale) or any substance that could interfere with fingerprint scanning. The Board explained that henna designs and the use of harsh chemicals to remove them could damage finger whorls, making biometric verification difficult or impossible.

Furthermore, JAMB reminded candidates that successful biometric verification is mandatory for entry into the examination hall. Without proper fingerprint authentication, candidates will be denied access to their exam questions, regardless of their registration status.

As the registration date approaches, JAMB encouraged all candidates to stay updated through official channels and avoid relying on unverified sources of information. The Board remains committed to ensuring a seamless, transparent, and efficient registration and examination process for the 2025 UTME.

Early preparation, including profile creation, is crucial for avoiding last-minute complications. Candidates are urged to follow all provided guidelines diligently to guarantee a stress-free registration experience and successful participation in the examination.
