As of today, March 18, 2025, candidates who successfully registered for the UTME are preparing for their exams, while those who missed the deadline are looking for alternative admission routes. Meanwhile, JAMB has begun the sale of Direct Entry (DE) forms for candidates who want to apply for admission directly into 200 level in universities.

Abuja, Nigeria – March 18, 2025: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially closed the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a total of 2,030,627 candidates successfully registered for the highly anticipated examination.

Despite widespread appeals from prospective candidates for a deadline extension, JAMB has maintained that the registration window, which opened on February 3, 2025, and ended on March 8, 2025, will not be reopened.

Following the completion of the registration process, the examination body has now shifted its focus to the conduct of the upcoming UTME, scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025.

Mock UTME and Main UTME Preparations in Full Swing

JAMB has also confirmed that 200,115 candidates registered for the optional Mock UTME, which is slated for April 5, 2025. Additionally, 630 candidates have enrolled for the trial mock examination to be held on the same day.

The mock examination is designed to help candidates familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format and assess their preparedness for the main UTME. JAMB has reiterated that only candidates who indicated interest in the mock during registration will be eligible to participate.

Meanwhile, preparations for the main UTME are ongoing, with JAMB working closely with accredited CBT centers nationwide to ensure a seamless and malpractice-free examination process.

The Board has advised all registered candidates to remain vigilant for updates regarding the printing of their UTME examination slips, which will contain details of their exam date, time, and assigned CBT center.

JAMB 2025 Direct Entry (DE) Registration Begins

In a separate development, JAMB has commenced the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms, which is targeted at candidates seeking admission directly into 200 level in Nigerian universities.

The DE registration officially began on March 12, 2025, and JAMB has urged all eligible applicants to complete their registration before the deadline.

Prospective DE candidates must:

  • Visit accredited JAMB registration centers for the application process.
  • Upload all required documents accurately to avoid disqualification.

JAMB has issued a strong warning against document falsification, stressing that any candidate found guilty of submitting fake qualifications will face immediate disqualification.

JAMB Warns Against Exam Malpractice and Missed Exams

Ahead of the UTME, JAMB has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice and has put in place strict measures to ensure the credibility of the exam.

The Board has warned candidates against carrying electronic devices, impersonation, or any form of cheating, stating that offenders will face severe penalties, including disqualification and possible prosecution.

Additionally, JAMB has emphasized that candidates who fail to appear for their scheduled UTME will not be given another opportunity to resit the exam.
