A candidate, Olawuyi Emmanuel, has shared a mixed experience from his JAMB 2025 Mock Exam held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos, where students waited for nearly nine hours before the exam eventually began.
“My centre started the mock around 3:30 PM instead of the initial 6:30 AM. It was not funny at all. It was annoyingly stressful,” he said.
According to Emmanuel, candidates arrived early in the morning, hoping to begin their exam as scheduled, but were left waiting for most of the day without clear communication from officials.
Despite the delay and the emotional and physical stress involved, Emmanuel added that the exam itself went well once it finally started.
“Nevertheless, we give God all the glory. It went well.”
Frustration and Faith
While many candidates across the country shared similar stories of delays, technical issues, and poor centre management, Emmanuel’s report reflects the common frustration mixed with calm acceptance that many students have shown after the mock.
Still, the experience highlights the urgent need for JAMB to monitor and improve the efficiency of its approved CBT centres, especially as the main UTME draws near.
Looking Ahead
The main UTME is set to begin on April 25, 2025, and candidates are hoping that the issues faced during the mock exam — including long waiting hours and disorganized centres — will not repeat themselves.

I also experienced delay in my mock exam, whereas I didn’t even write it. I got to the centre at a time 30 minutes before the exam and yet i couldn’t even write the damn thing despite waiting till 5:30 pm. I hope this nuisance doesn’t repeat itself on the main exam or else a lot of people wont be able to write the exam
