The optional exam is being held at designated CBT centres nationwide, giving students the opportunity to test their readiness and get familiar with the UTME exam format ahead of the main exam, which begins on April 25.
This live update page will follow the experience of candidates throughout the day, covering reports from various centres, technical feedback, reactions, and everything in between.
Stay tuned for real-time information as the day unfolds.
🕓 4:30 AM – Students Wake Up Early Across Nigeria
As early as 4:00 AM, many JAMB candidates began waking up, preparing their documents, and getting ready to leave for their exam centres. Social media was already active with students sharing their anxiety, excitement, and prayers ahead of the 2025 JAMB Mock Exam.
Common trends seen online include:
- Last-minute reprinting of slips
- Early morning study revisions
- Prayers for a smooth experience
- Transport plans being finalized
@BlessingReads: “Up since 4:15. Mock exam today. Even though it’s just practice, I feel like it’s the real thing already. God help me.”
@IAm_Malik: “Printed my slip last night. My centre is in Agege. I’m leaving the house by 6. I can’t take chances. #JAMBMock2025”
Even before sunrise, students are already mentally and physically preparing for what will be a major moment in their journey toward gaining university admission.
🕔 5:30 AM – Early Morning Preparations Begin
As the sun begins to rise across Nigeria, thousands of candidates are preparing to head out to their various exam centres. Many are checking their printed slips, packing light, and planning to leave early to avoid missing the exam.
Online, candidates are already sharing how they feel:
@EmekaPrep: “No sleep! Today’s mock go decide how I prepare for the real UTME. God abeg 🙏 #JAMBMock2025”
@Khadijat_Reads: “Mock day! Printed my slip since last week. Fingers crossed for smooth CBT systems today.”
CBT centres are expected to start receiving students by 7:00 AM or earlier, depending on their scheduled time. JAMB officials have reminded candidates to arrive early, come with their slip, and avoid bringing phones or electronic devices.
🕖 7:00 AM – Candidates Arriving at CBT Centres Nationwide
As early as 7:00 AM, candidates across various states have begun arriving at their assigned CBT centres for the JAMB 2025 Mock Exam. At several locations in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, students are being checked in by JAMB officials.
Security checks are in place, and many candidates are seen waiting patiently for their time slot.
Some early observations:
- Centres are mostly calm and orderly
- Candidates are carrying only their printed mock slips
- Phones and other gadgets are being collected outside the halls where necessary
David, a candidate in Ikeja: “It’s my first CBT exam, so I’m a bit anxious. But I just want to see how it works before the real thing.”
Halima, Kaduna: “I left home very early to avoid missing it. Better to be here too early than too late.”

🕛 12:00 PM – First Batch of Students Complete Their JAMB 2025 Mock Exam
By noon today, thousands of candidates have already finished their mock exam sessions and are leaving CBT centres across the country. For many, this was their first time sitting for a computer-based test, and early feedback is now beginning to surface both online and offline.
From Lagos to Kano, and from Port Harcourt to Jos, students have described the experience as a mix of smooth and stressful, depending on the centre.
Blessing (Benin City): “I was scared at first, but once the test started, it became easier. The timer helps you focus.”
Musa (Gombe): “My system froze for like 30 seconds, but the invigilator helped me continue. It was okay overall.”
Seyi (Ibadan): “Questions were not too hard. It’s similar to what I’ve been practicing. I’m glad I did the mock.”
There were also a few reports of centres starting late or having minor technical issues, but in most cases, invigilators helped students continue without losing time.
🕧 12:09 PM – DELSU Abraka Centre Yet to Begin Mock Exam, Candidates Left in the Dark
A report from Agoha Emeka, a candidate at Delta State University (DELSU), Electronics Examination Centre 1, Campus 3, Abraka, has revealed a frustrating situation. As of 10:28 AM, the mock exam had still not started, and there was no communication from the officials on ground.
“It’s 10:28 AM at Delta State University Electronics Examination Center 1, Campus 3, Abraka, and the mock exams have not started. No official is giving the candidates any updates or situational reports. The candidates, who have been here since 7:00 AM, are left roaming about without any guidance.
Different speculations are that the biometrics are not working, because they have not accredited any of the candidates.”
Candidates at the centre have been waiting for over 5 hours, and many are frustrated due to lack of updates and direction from the organizers.
This situation stands in contrast to most centres nationwide, where the exam started between 8:00 and 9:00 AM with only minor delays.
🕓 4:00 PM – Mock Exam Over, Candidates Now Waiting for Results
The JAMB 2025 Mock Exam has officially ended across centres nationwide, and candidates are now eagerly waiting to see their results.
During monitoring in Abuja, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede had earlier assured that results would be released “on Friday, April 11.” However, due to verification and processing from multiple batches, some candidates may not see their results immediately.
From all indications, mock results are expected to be released before April 16 at the latest.
Candidates are advised to:
- Keep checking the official JAMB portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng
- Log in with their JAMB email and password
- Look out for the “Check Mock Result” link on their dashboard
The result will not affect your UTME admission but can help you review your performance and plan better for the main exam starting April 25.

After doing thumbprint for the 3rd time
Federal college of education(technical), Akoka, my centre, started the mock around 3.30pm instead of the initial 6.30am, it was not funny at all, it was annoyingly stressful, nevertheless we give God all the glory, it went well
At first I was scared ….but when I started the exam I just began to smile…I pray that the main jamb will be simpler than this🙏🥲
Jamb will never take people serious.
The unfortunate situation of jamb mock candidates at Aloy unique investment cbt centre at okoko item Abia state, jamb should look into the centres they approve some are not competent💔💔
We left our various houses very early in the morning to a very far place where we knew nobody just to stay there from the early hours of the morning till 4pm and still didn’t write our exams , with the alarming security dispositions in Nigeria, jamb expect we teenagers to wait till what ever time they want knowing fully well we came from far places, it wasn’t funny because it was a total waste of time, money and strength while causing us mental and emotional stress which There after we didn’t to write the exams. Pls we don’t want this kind of complications in our main exams.
Woke up by 4:30 and got there by 6:00am. After the biometric verification we just went up and sat there for over 8hrs till we started by 2:57pm and then the calculators that were supposed to be used for science students refused to work. I was left stranded only using my head to solve complex questions. It was at Ignatius university port Harcourt. It’s by the grace of God that I don’t fail
