The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reminded prospective candidates that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will officially close on March 8, 2025. With only 9 days remaining, candidates who have not yet completed their registration are urged to do so immediately to avoid last-minute issues.
No Extension of Registration Deadline
JAMB has repeatedly stated that there will be no extension of the UTME registration deadline. The board emphasized that its examination calendar is fixed, and any delay would disrupt the scheduled examination, result processing, and admissions exercise.
A statement from JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, reiterated this stance:
“We urge all candidates who are yet to register for the UTME to complete their registration before March 8, 2025. There will be no extension, and we advise candidates to avoid waiting until the last minute.”
Why Candidates Should Register Now
With just a few days left, JAMB has warned against procrastination, noting that candidates who delay until the final days may face network issues, crowded CBT centers, or payment failures.
Steps to Complete UTME Registration
Candidates yet to register should take the following steps to complete the process:
- Obtain a National Identification Number (NIN) – This is a compulsory requirement for registration.
- Generate a Profile Code by sending their NIN to 55019 or 66019 via SMS.
- Purchase the JAMB e-PIN from approved vendors such as banks, online payment platforms, or POS centers.
- Visit an accredited CBT center to complete biometric verification and registration.
- Print out the registration slip as proof of successful registration.
Mock Exam and Main UTME Dates
- JAMB Mock Exam Date: April 5, 2025 (for candidates who selected mock during registration).
- Main UTME Exam Dates: April 25 – May 5, 2025.
Final Call for Registration
With the March 8 deadline fast approaching, candidates are advised to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid last-minute challenges. JAMB has reiterated that no late registrations will be entertained, and failure to register within the stipulated time means candidates will be unable to sit for the 2025 UTME.
For further updates, candidates are encouraged to visit the official JAMB website or follow JAMB’s verified social media channels.
