The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the official arrival time for candidates sitting for the 2025 UTME, urging all candidates to take note of this critical instruction ahead of their exam day.
According to the board, candidates are expected to arrive at their designated CBT centres at least one hour before their scheduled exam time as stated on their examination slip. This is not a suggestion — it is a strict rule.
On the exam day, candidates will undergo biometric verification before being allowed into the exam hall. JAMB has made it clear that any candidate who fails to arrive early enough to complete this process will not be allowed to write the exam, and no makeup exam will be given.
JAMB also advised candidates to avoid the mistake of arriving “just in time,” as unexpected delays — traffic, difficulty locating the venue, or long queues — could cost them their chance to write the exam.
To avoid issues, candidates are encouraged to locate their CBT centres a day before the exam, especially if they’re unfamiliar with the area. This simple step can prevent confusion and reduce exam-day stress.
The board also reminded candidates not to come with banned items like mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or writing materials, as they will not be allowed into the hall with any of these.
In summary, if your exam is scheduled for 7:00 AM, you should be at the centre no later than 6:00 AM. Anything later could cost you the entire exam.
