The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This announcement was made in a statement by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, outlining steps for both new and returning CBT centres to register for the accreditation exercise.

Guidelines for Established Centres
CBT centres that successfully participated in the 2024 UTME are required to express their interest in hosting the 2025 UTME. These centres can do so by registering on JAMB’s Centre Management System Portal (CMS).
Procedures for New Centres
New centres interested in participating in the exercise must follow a more detailed process:
- Review Requirements: Prospective centres must visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf to review the criteria for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre.
- Formal Notification: New applicants are required to notify JAMB of their intention in writing. This notification must be addressed to the Registrar through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective states.
- Account Creation: JAMB’s Zonal and State Offices will assist new centres by creating accounts on the CMS Portal to facilitate the registration process.
Mandatory Autobot/Autotest
All centres, both new and returning, must conduct an Autobot/Autotest, a critical step to evaluate their systems’ readiness for accreditation. JAMB will announce the date for this test.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin stressed that the Autobot/Autotest is a key requirement, stating, “Only centres that complete this test and meet the necessary criteria will proceed to the next stage.”
Physical Accreditation Visits
Centres that pass the Autobot/Autotest will receive an invitation for a physical accreditation exercise scheduled for December 2024. However, those that fail to meet the required standards during the test will not be reconsidered.
Centres that meet all the stipulated requirements will be approved to participate in the 2025 UTME registration and examination process.
Aiming for Seamless Operations
JAMB is committed to ensuring a seamless and transparent accreditation process to maintain high standards for the 2025 UTME. Centre operators are encouraged to comply fully with the outlined steps to secure approval.
