JAMB Begins Centre Accreditation for 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the accreditation of centres for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), marking the start of preparations for the annual national examination.

In a statement released by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board emphasized that the accreditation process is a crucial initial step to ensure a seamless UTME exercise.

The statement outlined detailed instructions for both new and existing Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres:

  • For New Centres:
Prospective CBT centres must visit the official JAMB website to review the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved centre. These requirements are detailed at https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf. Interested centres are required to notify JAMB in writing of their intention to participate in the accreditation process. Notifications should be addressed to the Registrar through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective locations.
  • For Existing Centres:
Centres that successfully participated in the 2024 UTME are to register their interest via the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal. New accounts will be created on the portal for centres undergoing the process for the first time.

As part of the accreditation process, all centres must conduct a mandatory Autobot/Autotest, which will serve as a prerequisite for the physical accreditation visit by JAMB officials. Only centres that meet the criteria and pass the Autobot/Autotest will be eligible for the next stage.

The physical accreditation exercise is scheduled for December 2024, and only qualified centres will receive notifications regarding the specific date. Centres failing to meet the criteria during the Autobot/Autotest phase will not be revisited.

Successful centres will be approved and included in JAMB’s database for the 2025 UTME registration and examination.

This rigorous accreditation process underscores JAMB’s commitment to maintaining high standards in its examination processes and ensuring that candidates nationwide have access to reliable and efficient CBT centres.
