The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will officially close on March 8, 2025, with no plans for an extension.
Final Registration Deadline Set
In a statement released on Tuesday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin emphasized that the registration deadline has been clearly outlined in advertisements and the official UTME schedule.
“We want to make it clear to all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read.
Over 1.5 Million Candidates Registered
JAMB disclosed that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully completed their registration, aligning with its projections for the 2025 UTME cycle.
Despite the steady registration numbers, the board noted a drop in daily registrations and urged all intending candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid last-minute technical difficulties.
Strict Adherence to JAMB’s Calendar
JAMB explained that its operational schedule includes exam administration, result processing, and admissions exercises, all of which are structured in coordination with other agencies.
“Any change to the registration timeline would disrupt not only our plans but also those of our partner agencies involved in the admissions process,” the board stated.
Urgent Call for Candidates to Register
With the March 8 deadline fast approaching, candidates are strongly advised to finalize their registration within the stipulated period to ensure their eligibility for the 2025 UTME. Delays may lead to exclusion from the examination, as JAMB has made it clear that no late registrations will be accommodated.
