The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration remains March 3, 2025, with no plans for an extension.
JAMB’s Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, made this clear during a monitoring exercise at several Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers. He stated that the registration process has been smooth and efficient, and candidates who fail to register before the deadline will not be accommodated after the closing date.
Over 782,000 Candidates Registered So Far
As of February 20, 2025, JAMB reported that 782,027 candidates had successfully registered for the UTME across 856 accredited CBT centers nationwide. With over 80,000 daily registrations, JAMB is on track to meet its target of registering approximately two million candidates before the deadline.
JAMB assured candidates that there is enough time for everyone to complete their registration before March 3, warning against last-minute rush that could lead to network congestion or errors in registration.
No Deadline Extension for UTME 2025
Professor Oloyede ruled out any possibility of extending the deadline, citing the smooth and seamless registration process. He emphasized that all candidates must register within the stipulated period and those who miss it will have to wait for the next examination cycle in 2026.
“We have made the process easier and more efficient this year. Candidates have ample time to register. There is no need for an extension because registration is moving at an excellent pace,” Oloyede said.
Candidates Advised to Avoid Errors and Scams
JAMB also advised candidates to use only accredited CBT centers for their registration to avoid fraudulent activities. The board has warned against third-party agents who might try to exploit desperate candidates, urging students to follow the official registration guidelines.
Additionally, JAMB reaffirmed its strict biometric verification policy, stating that candidates whose biometric data cannot be verified will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

Candidates who have not yet registered are advised to act quickly before the deadline to avoid any issues. With no extension planned, those who miss the registration will have no alternative but to wait until next year.

If someone did his NIN at the age of 16 years and used it to write weac and his yet to be 17 years infact he will be 17 by march 7th can he register for jamb??
Because ever since he has been unable to create a profile code for jamb and he has been to the NIN offices and they said his NIN is okay and went to the jamb offices which they said he should do validation for his NIN which he has done that also even migration as they said
Please what could be the cause of him not being able to get a profile code from jamb?
