The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially debunked rumours that the ongoing 2025 Direct Entry (DE) registration will close on Monday, April 7, 2025.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Board’s Spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, clarified that the registration process remains open and ongoing until an official closing date is announced.
Registration Still Open at Designated Centres
JAMB emphasized that candidates who wish to apply for Direct Entry can continue their registration at any of the Board’s designated Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) across the country.
Dr. Benjamin stated, “The 2025 Direct Entry registration, which began on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, will not be closing on April 7 as some have speculated. The exercise will continue until a formal deadline is declared by the Board.”
He further urged candidates not to panic or rush based on false information circulating online and advised them to rely only on JAMB’s official communication platforms.
JAMB Investigating Fraudulent A-Level Submissions
One of the key reasons the Board is keeping the registration window open is to allow for ongoing investigations into candidates attempting to register with fake A-Level results.
Dr. Benjamin explained that this extended timeline is necessary for the Board to identify and take action against individuals who may have already been flagged or arrested for using fraudulent qualifications.
“This liberalisation of the registration period allows the Board to complete investigations into candidates who have been arrested or are under scrutiny for submitting fake A-Level results. We are also reviewing applications that may involve suspicious credentials,” he said.
Warning to Candidates with Questionable Credentials
JAMB has issued a strong warning to all candidates, stating that those with questionable or forged documents should withdraw voluntarily from the process.
“If you have previously used fraudulent results, we advise you to step back from the registration process. The Board has implemented advanced verification systems and will not hesitate to take action against any candidate found guilty of academic fraud,” Dr. Benjamin said.
He added that investigations are not only focused on new applicants but also extend to students who have already been admitted through Direct Entry in previous admission cycles.
Final Advice to Candidates
As of now, JAMB has not fixed any specific deadline for the end of the 2025 Direct Entry registration. Candidates are advised to continue registering without panic, ensure all their documents are genuine, and stay updated via JAMB’s official website and verified news sources.
