JAMB Reveals Candidates Who May Not Be Allowed to Write UTME 2025

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reiterated that candidates who fail biometric verification on the examination day will not be permitted to sit for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or its mock version. This policy, aimed at enhancing security and preventing examination malpractice, underscores JAMB’s commitment to strict verification measures for all registered candidates.

As the 2025 UTME is scheduled to hold from April 25 to May 5, candidates must ensure their biometric details are correctly captured during registration to avoid issues on exam day. Additionally, no parent or proxy will be allowed to make transactions on candidates’ profiles, as such interference could lead to data mismatches and alterations.

JAMB Warns Against Violations in UTME Registration

To maintain the integrity of the registration process, JAMB has warned all Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to strictly adhere to its guidelines. The board emphasized that UTME registration is an individual process, not a group or school-based affair, as centralized registrations often lead to data mix-ups, mutilation, and mismatches.

JAMB has further disclosed that some CBT centres engaging in fraudulent activities are under investigation and may have their accreditation withdrawn if found guilty. The board has urged candidates to register only at approved centres and avoid shortcuts that could lead to complications during verification.

Education Minister Assures of Smooth UTME 2025 Registration

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, visited the JAMB Lagos Zonal Headquarters in Ikoyi and the ETC CBT Centre in Ilupeju on February 14 to observe the registration process. He commended JAMB’s use of advanced technology to streamline registration and ensure a seamless examination process.

During his interaction with UTME candidates, Alausa reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to making quality education more accessible and eliminating barriers that hinder students from pursuing higher education. He emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s education system, urging students to focus on their academic goals.

Final Reminder to Candidates

With JAMB 2025 UTME registration ongoing, candidates are advised to ensure their biometric verification is successful during registration to avoid being barred from the examination. JAMB remains firm in enforcing this policy to curb exam malpractices and improve the credibility of the UTME process.

Additionally, students must take responsibility for their registration details and avoid unauthorized interference from parents, proxies, or fraudulent CBT centres. With strict monitoring and enforcement in place, JAMB is working to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible UTME 2025 examination process.
