The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the suspension of Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum CBT Centre 2 in Yobe State and the CBT Centre, Otukpo, Benue State, for 14 days, effective Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Reason for Suspension
The Board stated that the suspension followed a major procedural breach that compromised the security measures put in place to maintain the integrity of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process.
According to JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the affected centres failed to adhere to the registration guidelines by submitting blank copies of the registration template instead of properly filled-out forms. This act was seen as a deliberate attempt to increase candidate submissions without following due process.
JAMB’s Position on the Issue
Dr Benjamin emphasized that all candidates must manually fill in their details before uploading them to the registration portal. The template containing these details must also be uploaded as evidence of the candidates’ choices and the information they provided.
“It is disturbing that some centres, despite being fully briefed on the implications of failing to adhere to these guidelines, have chosen to disregard them,” the statement read.
Warning to Other CBT Centres
JAMB warned that any centre found engaging in similar violations in the future would face outright cancellation and be permanently barred from participating in the Board’s activities.
“This suspension serves as a stern warning to any centres considering similar actions. Any centre found uploading blank templates in the future will face cancellation and permanent disqualification from JAMB’s registration process,” Dr Benjamin stated.
Ongoing UTME Registration
The 2025 UTME registration commenced on Monday, February 3, 2025, and will conclude on March 8, 2025. Candidates are advised to ensure that they register only at JAMB-accredited CBT centres that strictly follow the Board’s guidelines to avoid complications in their registration process.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process and urged all CBT centres to comply with established guidelines.

The CBT centre I’m currently registering, the officials are collecting 15k from some candidates to bypass long queues and I and my sister have been here since 7:15am and these candidates that are paying 15k are just coming in late. It’s not fair because a lot of us are coming from far places and we’ve been sitting here.
What’s the address of the CBT centre?
IT’S VERY UNFAIR
