The Lekan Adewoye Foundation, an Ilorin-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has taken a significant step in supporting education in Kwara State by sponsoring 1,000 candidates for the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams. The initiative aims to provide educational opportunities for admission seekers across the state, covering 83 wards in the seven local governments of the Kwara South senatorial zone.
In addition to covering the cost of JAMB registration for these 1,000 candidates, the Foundation has also pledged full academic scholarships for candidates from each of the seven local governments who achieve the highest scores in the examination. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to improving access to higher education.
Lekan Adewoye, the founder of the NGO, explained that the beneficiaries were selected based on merit and need. He emphasized that the initiative targets students who truly deserve the opportunity to further their education, irrespective of their financial backgrounds. “They must have a fair chance at pursuing higher education,” Adewoye said during a press briefing in Ilorin.
Adewoye, who is also a member of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting educational standards, not just in Kwara South but across the region. “Education remains the most powerful tool for transformation. At the Lekan Adewoye Foundation, we believe that no brilliant mind should be denied access to higher education due to financial constraints,” he stated.
The Foundation’s scholarship program is designed to support top-performing students by providing them with comprehensive assistance to pursue their studies at any accredited institution that grants them admission. This gesture aims to empower young Nigerians, helping them overcome barriers to education and achieve academic success.
With this initiative, the Lekan Adewoye Foundation is making a meaningful impact in the lives of students in Kwara, reinforcing its mission to foster academic excellence and create opportunities for brighter futures.
