“The crash involved two vehicles – a 14-seater Toyota commercial bus, grey in color, and a commercial Mercedes Benz tipper,” Igwe said. He noted that bystanders at the scene rescued the injured passengers and transported them to David Umahi Federal Hospital in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area.
The FRSC sector commander added that while the identities and number of injured victims have not yet been confirmed, the survivors are reported to be in stable condition.
Safety Reminder for Travelers
The FRSC has urged road users, particularly those traveling to NYSC orientation camps, to adhere to road safety regulations, including avoiding speeding, to prevent such tragic incidents. The sector commander reiterated the importance of cautious driving, especially during this period when many prospective corps members are traveling to various camps across the country.
This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the need for road safety and vigilance, particularly for those embarking on long journeys.
