Lagos, Nigeria – March 5, 2025 – In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude and commitment to academic excellence, the 2007 alumni of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Faculty of Law have fully refurbished the faculty’s Students’ Lounge, providing students with a modern and comfortable space for relaxation and academic engagements.
The initiative, which was officially commissioned on March 4, 2025, is part of the alumni’s effort to give back to the institution that shaped their careers and to create a better learning environment for the next generation of legal professionals.

Speaking at the unveiling, members of the 2007 Law alumni class expressed that the refurbishment was a symbol of appreciation for the quality education, mentorship, and opportunities they received while studying at UNILAG.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Abiola Sanni, SAN, expressed deep appreciation for the donation, stating that the newly renovated lounge represents the faculty’s commitment to providing a conducive academic environment.

The National President of the UNILAG Alumni Worldwide, Engineer Ifeoluwa Oyedele, FNSE, commended the 2007 alumni class for their generosity, urging other alumni groups to follow their example in giving back to the university.
“This refurbishment is not just about upgrading a facility, but about strengthening the bond between alumni and their alma mater. We encourage more alumni sets to contribute in whatever way they can to improve the learning experience for students,” he noted.
