UTME 2025: Forgot Your JAMB Profile Code? Steps to Retrieve It Easily

As preparations for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) progress, many candidates are encountering challenges related to retrieving their JAMB profile codes, especially those who have forgotten them. The JAMB profile code is a vital requirement for UTME registration, and without it, candidates cannot proceed with the registration process.

A candidate identified as Golden shared his concern online about forgetting his old profile code, which was previously linked to his National Identification Number (NIN). This situation is not uncommon, especially for returning candidates who might have written JAMB in previous years and misplaced their profile code.

In response to this issue, other users, including Tedum144, God’spower, and Azeez Oyebola, suggested that candidates in similar situations should send the keyword “RESEND” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number previously linked to their NIN. This command allows JAMB to retrieve and resend the candidate’s existing profile code via SMS.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has also clarified that candidates do not need to create a new profile code if they already have one. Instead, the focus should be on retrieving the old code and ensuring that the linked phone number is functional.

For candidates who no longer have access to the phone number previously used for their JAMB registration, JAMB recommends visiting an accredited JAMB CBT Centre or reaching out to their network service provider to retrieve or reactivate the phone number.

It’s essential for candidates to address any issues with their profile codes well ahead of the registration deadline to avoid unnecessary delays. Early preparation and adherence to official JAMB guidelines will ensure a smooth registration process.

JAMB also warns candidates to avoid relying on unofficial sources or third-party agents when dealing with profile code or NIN-related issues. Instead, they are encouraged to use official JAMB support channels and visit authorized CBT Centres for assistance.
