Ahead of the commencement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scheduled for Thursday, April 24, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed security personnel across all 33 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Anambra State.
This was confirmed by Edwin Okadigbo, Head of Media and Tactical at the Anambra NSCDC Command, in a press release issued on Wednesday.

Purpose of the Deployment
According to the statement, the deployment was ordered by the State Commandant, Olatunde Maku, to ensure a safe, hitch-free, and credible conduct of the examination throughout the state.
“They will provide security for the critical infrastructure, prevent intrusion of unwanted persons, and uphold the integrity of the examination in all the 33 accredited CBT centres across the state,” the statement read.
Officers to Report Before 6AM Daily
Commandant Maku directed that NSCDC operatives must:
- Arrive before 6:00am each day
- Screen candidates and restrict access to anyone with prohibited items
- Enforce compliance with JAMB guidelines
- Maintain a serene, professional environment during all sessions
He emphasized the importance of NSCDC’s role in supporting JAMB’s efforts to conduct a transparent and secure exam for all candidates.

Warning to Unauthorized Persons
The corps also issued a strong warning to the general public:
- Unauthorized persons are not allowed to loiter around CBT centres
- Candidates must not bring prohibited items, or risk arrest and prosecution
- Full security coverage will be provided at every centre, including rapid response to any security issues that may arise
