JAMB 2025: If Your Exam Slip Says 6:30 AM, Will You Start Exactly at That Time?

Many JAMB candidates who have reprinted their examination slips for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are noticing that their exam time is scheduled as early as 6:30 AM.

This has raised a common question, like the one Abdulmannan Yahaya asked:

Yes, Your Exam Is Scheduled to Start at 6:30 AM

If your JAMB examination slip shows 6:30 AM, it means your exam is officially scheduled to start by 6:30 AM.

JAMB organizes the UTME in multiple sessions every day to manage the large number of candidates,
and 6:30 AM is usually the time for the first batch of candidates at each CBT centre.

Important Things to Note

While 6:30 AM is your scheduled start time, you should keep the following in mind:

  • Arrive at your centre very early, preferably by 4:30 AM or 5:00 AM.
  • Biometric verification (fingerprint and photo check) will be done before you are allowed into the exam hall.
  • Minor delays may happen at some centres due to technical setups or network, but the target is to start as close to 6:30 AM as possible.
  • Candidates who arrive late may not be allowed to enter once biometric verification for the batch is closed.

Arriving early helps you settle down and avoid unnecessary stress.

Final Advice to Candidates

If your JAMB exam slip shows 6:30 AM, plan and prepare as if you must start at exactly that time.

Wake up early, arrange your transport ahead of time, and make sure you get to your CBT centre long before your scheduled time.

  1. My issue is that us that we are very far away from the CBT center, how are we now going to write the exams, I hereby plead with the board to try and modify the time, because it’s not easy, and the issue am having issues that, where they posted me is very far and I don’t know anyone nearby so that I can even try and take a nap there for the exam.
