If you’re also facing this issue, don’t panic. This is a common problem, and in most cases, it can be fixed with the right steps.

Here’s what you need to do if you’ve sent the correct SMS command but got no reply from JAMB:

1. Check the Phone Number You’re Using

Make sure you are sending the SMS from the same phone number you used to register for JAMB. If you use any other line, JAMB will not recognize your details, and you won’t get any response.

If you’re not sure which number you registered with, check your JAMB registration slip.

2. Ensure You Typed the Message Correctly

You must type UTMERESULT exactly like that — all capital letters and no space.

JAMB’s SMS service is case-sensitive and does not recognize other formats.

3. Make Sure You Have Airtime

You need at least ₦50 airtime on your phone to send the SMS successfully. If your balance is too low, the message won’t be processed, even if it appears sent.

4. Check Your Network Connection

Some mobile networks may delay or block outgoing SMS temporarily due to signal issues. Try switching your phone to airplane mode and back, or restarting your phone before trying again.

Also, make sure you’re using one of these supported networks:

  • MTN
  • Airtel
  • Glo
  • 9mobile

(If you are using a SIM that has been inactive for a while, consider switching to another line that was used during registration.)

5. Try the Alternative Number (66019)

If you sent your SMS to 55019 and got no response, try sending the same message to 66019 instead. Both numbers are approved by JAMB, and either one should work depending on your network’s routing.

6. Wait and Retry Later

Sometimes JAMB’s server may be busy, especially during the first 24–48 hours of result release. If you’ve followed all the steps above and still get no response, wait a few hours and try again. Avoid sending the message repeatedly within a short time.

JAMB has confirmed that the SMS method is the only way to check the 2025 UTME result. The online result portal is currently not in use, so avoid wasting time on websites or cyber cafés claiming otherwise.

    • I’ve tried and it’s saying the results isn’t available, I thought those who wrote early can check theirs first? I wrote on 25th,and I still haven’t seen my results, please open the online portal 🙏.

  9. I used my dad’s sim to registered my NIN, but last year, he retrieved the sim because he hasn’t linked his own NIN to the line. So this year when I wanted to register jamb, I tried to change my NIN number so it could be easier for me to check my result.
    But the 55019 is telling me that my dad’s number is still the one on my NIN,meanwhile I’ve change it already.
    When I tried to check the result now, it was telling me Unable to charge. [ds.value.not-found].

  10. I sent “UTMERESULT”to 55019 and was told to be on process. After waiting for some time, I decided to text to 66019 but had no response.
    I made do with my registration number which was my Airtel number. There was also an Internet connection.
    With these, I wonder what then hinders the result outlet.

  16. I prepared for 2025 utme with all my heart and soul
    I read overnight almost everyday I even solved almost all the years in the utme pqs
    I took mocks and I never scored below 300 in any mock I took
    I READ AND READ AND READ
    When it was time to even write the exam I was so happy because I knew most of the answer because I prepared for them this and now jamb is giving me 166 as my score
    I written this jamb three times now
    My first was 262
    Second was 290
    I was so sure of this last one that i wouldn’t score anything below 330 sef because I read and read I took coffee so as not to sleep
